The new service tax policy came to force from 1st of this month not only angered the common public but also the cinema actors.According to the new policy,the actors are required to pay 12% of their remuneration as services tax to the government.when one of the actor take 10 crores as remuneration then he will pay 1.2 crores to the government as service tax.
The actors of other industies are in touch with Andhra Pradesh film chamber of commerce president suresh babu and Murli Mohan artists associationto agitate against this policy.All the film associations are planning to give a representation to government to reduce the tax below 5%.If necessary,they are planning to go ona national bandh too.
