Love has no past or future. It has to be enjoyed in the present. That’s the plus point for love stories. There is some magic in love stories. Many love stories may have come, many people may have narrated them in different ways, still there will be something left to said. Though its an old story, if polished and narrated in a different way, it will win audience hearts. It does not matter what we are telling, only how we are telling matters. Phone friendships and loving without seeing each others is not new to Telugu films. But director gave a new angle to the story by making it triangle love in ‘Gunde jaari gallanthayyinde.’ NItin-Nitya’s Ishq is still fresh in memories. Though same pair came, with same story, they have created a new feel. Let’s find out what makes ‘gunde jaari gallanthayyinde’ win audience hearts.
Karthik is today’s youngster. He lives life on his terms. He loves Isha Talwar at first sight. But does not know her name or contact number. He gets her number with the help of his friend Pandu(Ali). In a hurry he saves wrong number. That is Shravani’s (Nitya) number. She has her own opinions and interests in every matter. She is also very studious, even in the matter of love. She is looking for a guy who loves her without demanding any changes in her individuality. Karthik gets close to Shravani on phone believing her as Shruthi. Meanwhile Shruthi falls in love with some other guy. How these love tracks get entangled and how these people come out of them, forms the crux of the story.
Yandamuri has shown phone love long back in ‘Vennello..Aadapilla.’ That novel came as movie. Loving without seeing at each other is Premalekha style. When key point is old, scenes picturisation and characterisation has to be new. Director Vijay Kumar Konda has done the same thing here. He has started film entertainingly and maintained pace, without appearing boring at any point. He has presented comedy of errors nicely. Nitin’s characterisation and scenes have been refreshing. It’s known that Nitin is Pawan Kalyan’s fan. Earlier he used to imitate Pawan Kalyan. In this film he changed as Pawan and showed his fanside. He has perfectly used Toliprema song. By showing Pawan in graphics in the song, he attracted audience and Pawan fans. He has even taken Bhumika’s navel scene from Kushi. In fact, even mega family has not used Pawan’s stamina and star power like Nitin. All these factors will give bonus entertainment.
Second half starts on a slightly slow pace. The danger of losing first half’s pace appears at a moment. Exactly at this juncture, story again gets interesting with Nitya’s revenge drama. Nitya once again proved that she is a performer. Nitya deserves praise. Nitin and Nitya took forward this movie on their shoulders. Their chemistry has once again worked. Though we can expect the climax and coming scenes, we enjoy each scene. That’s the mystery of love stories. If director has the talent of engrossing audience in the story, he can do magic.
Anup Ruben’s music is a big plus for this movie. His tunes will enthrall audience. He remixed Toliprema song without losing its pace and beauty. He even excelled in re-recording. Cinematography and editing have been perfect. Every department has worked sincerely for this film. Visually also Gunde jaari gallanthayyinde looks very rich. Isha Talwar is wrong choice for this movie. Both her looks and acting are forgettable. Jwala Gutta appears very awkward. Don’t know what advantage Jwala brought to this film. Some obscene dialogues have got unheard under beep sounds. Though entertaining, Mada character goes overboard. If these minuses have been taken care of, film would have become much more better. 
At last Nitin realised which characters will suit him. He faced series of failures with action and mass films. He changed his track and achieved hit with Ishq. Ishq showed what result he will get, if he selects characters suitable to his age and image. Gunde jaari gallanthayyinde will continue his hit run. Summer holidays have started and youngsters are looking for good cinema. Gunde jaari gallanthayyinde will satisfy their desire for a good love story.

Synopsis:

Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu is the story of a beautiful family in Relangi. Prakash Raj fondly called as Relangi Mavayya is the head of the family. His sons are Venkatesh and Mahesh called as Peddodu and Chinnodu. Peddodu is a guy with lot of character who does not want to do routine stuff. And on the other side, Chinnodu was a jovial guy and is irresistible to every girl. He meets a girl Geeta (Samantha) and falls for her instant. And there is also Seetha, the maradalu of Venky who lives and dreams for him. What are the differences that creep in the family? How it affects their lives? forms the actual part.

How they performed?

Venkatesh had delivered a solid and matured performance as a stubborn young man. He really excelled in few emotional scenes. Mahesh had excelled in the role of Chinnodu. His naughty acts, comedy timing, one liners delivery were all excellent. One more dimension is his superb performance in emotional scenes.

Anjali looked beautiful in traditional attire and she was so natural. Samantha had little scope for acting but she had done justice to whatever she is offered. She looked pretty as always. Rao Ramesh made a mark as always with good dialogue delivery with apt diction and expressions. Prakash raj and Jayasudha did their regular jobs casually. Rest all are okay.

Technical Performances:

It was once in a life time opportunity for any director to direct two big stars like Mahesh Babu and Venkatesh in film. Srikanth Addala managed to lay hands on it for his second project itself. He tried to connect with audience with a movie which can happen in any households but missed the commercial aspect which a commoner expects. He could not get the perfect balance between Mahesh and Venky which is so crucial for a multistarer. The movie was so evenly paced that it goes no slowly with out creating any excitement in the audience.

Guhan’s cinematography is great. Mickey J.Meyer’s back ground music is awesome and songs are good. But enough care is not taken in the picturization except Vana Chinukula and the marriage song. Editing could have been better.

Final Say:

The first half of the movie is good and the graph in the second half dips slowly. The climax looks abrupt. Just like TV show, the movie just goes on slowly with out generating any stir with the entertainment quotient totally missing. The movie success will now depend on how families and ladies lap the movie.

BROTHERS MOVIE REVIEW

Story: 

Surya Telugu Movie Brothers - Surya back with Brothers, the dubbed version of his Tamil movie Maatran.Brothers movie revolves around a conjoined twins. Brothers Movie director KV Anand has written a script for the movie.

Vimal and Akhil (Surya) are conjoined twins born to Sachin Khedekar, who is a founder and the owner of a company he sells the best kids energy drink in the market. Sachin's rival sends a Russian spy to the company to know the secret formula of the drink. The spy manages to get some info with the help of Kajal and Surya, but he is killed. Meanwhile, Vimal dies in an accident and Akhil gets separated from him.

Akhil comes to know that the Russian lady was not a spy and the energy drink which was selling in the market actually contains dangerous substances. He went for Russia with Kajal Agarwal to know the truth. What happens next you must watch in theatres.There are few romantic songs and comedy scenes between the conjoined twins  in the first half. But the movie takes a serious mode in the second half and the climax is superb.

Analysis: 

Suriya with every film he is getting better always. He carries the entire film on his shoulders. He has shown the difference of the conjoined twins rightly in the body mannerism and voice modulation. He does everything perfectly. Kajal Agarwal is pretty and beautiful.Sachin Khedekar plays a very important role in this film.

Performances: 

Surya has delivered a wonderful performance. Surya diffinitely get the award for this film acting as a conjoined twins He looks stunning in action and dance. He has shown perfect comedy timing in the first half. Kajal surely rocks you in the song sequences. Sachin Khedekar, Vivek and others have done brilliant acting.

Technicalities: 

KV Anand's story and direction is wonderful. Harris Jayraj’s music is main attraction. His background score and tunes are good to listen. Sounda Rajan's picturiasation is another highlight. Peter Hein choreographed action is also main attraction. Anthony's editing and Rajeevan's art direction are also good.

Final Word: Brothers is a perfect watch you must watch.

The most expected movie of this month, Rebel is out in theaters now. Prabhas who has delivered back to back hits with Darling and Mr. Perfect is eyeing a hat-trick with this film. Director Lawrence is in superb form on the other hand. Unsurprisingly the film got tremendous business craze all over. Did it live up to the expectations?

What is it about?

Rishi (Prabhas) avenges the death of his father and mother (Krishnam Raju and Prabha) and goes in search of the killer. How he gets hold of him and how does he take revenge forms the crux of this story.

Performances:

Prabhas has done a terrific job as the leading man. His macho looks and stunning performance stands out in this movie. He has shouldered the movie throughout despite all the cliches and weak links. He made this film watchable in every frame he was on screen. His fights are extremely believable and he danced well. Only problem is with his dialog delivery. He should have rectified it by now.

Tamanna plays the seductress and Deeksha Seth plays a sober role. Tamanna sizzled as the glam doll, but her performance isn’t up to the mark. Deeksha too failed to impress. Krishnam Raju is alright. His role should have been restricted from doing action sequences. Brahmanandam, Ali tried to infuse some comedy.

On the Technical Front:

Swamy has written dialogs for this film. Frankly speaking he has done a very average job. Music by Lawrence was one of the biggest minuses of this film. Not even one song is good on ears. Only visuals are good to certain extent. Tamanna and Prabhas dances are a treat to watch. Cinematography is fine. Editing could have been better.

Lawrence has once again written a simple storyline and tried to present it in his own way. Looks like Lawrence is trying to make an impression of having a signature style in making a movie. There are many similarities between this film and his previous movies. Lawrence’s style suits Tamil audiences pretty well and not every Telugu audience will vote positively for this film.

Analysis:

Rebel starts off in an uninteresting manner and it bores you in the first hour. No story is told in the first half and hero is shown in a passive mode. He waits for the right time to arrive to take revenge upon his enemies. Interval point is where the hero and villain threads meet.

The graph touched peaks during the interval episode and the tempo has been maintained for a while. After that the graph falls down as an unending kill fest starts off. Second half is filled with excessive bloodshed and gore. There is absolutely no comedy in the second half. Ali’s comedy bit was pale and didn’t click.

There are few good moments here and there, but on a whole Rebel is a replica of Lawrence’s previous works. It is very long that we can’t sit through it for those good moments. Masses may like the action part [done well] and Prabhas fans will like the actor’s performance. Openings will be good. Only thing that has to be seen is whether it will be lapped up by the mass audiences or not.

Verdict: Rebel disappoints!

Charulatha Movie Review Story:

‘Charulatha’ is the story of two conjoined twins named Charu & Latha -both played by Priyamani. One day, Charu and Latha goes to music classes to learn violin but was rejected by the master as he feels that they can’t play tough tunes as it may injure them. Both Charu and Latha prove their mettle and impress the master and starts learning violin. In the mean time, Charu slowly gets attracted to her classmate Ravi and eventually falls in love with him. This didn’t go well with Latha who also loves Ravi and as a result, troubles slowly start developing between them.  Suddenly, Latha dies under mysterious circumstances and becomes a ghost thus threatening Charu. What happens next? Can Charu get rid of the ghost of Latha and will she be able to marry Ravi has to be watched on screen.

Charulatha Review Analysis:

Charulatha is inspired from Thai movie ‘Alone’. The movie turns interesting and the story was established only from the pre-interval scene itself.  However, director Pon Kumaran has come up with right blend of comedy, emotions and suspense in the first half with brisk narration. The sister relationship and sentiment scenes are heart touching and few scenes like the ghost of Latha threatening Charu by hanging herself to the ceiling fan, the scene where Charu was shocked when the ghost tries to kill her while bathing are fantastic.

The second half is the soul of the movie. Priyamani has delivered a wonderful performance and kudos to her for showcasing lot of variations as a timid girl and as a ghost. Especially, the climax episode is exhilarating and director Pon Kumaran has extracted the best out of her. He has given right kind of treatment and the way he adapted the movie to the Indian sensibilities needs a round of applause.

Charulatha Movie Review TeluguOne Perspective:

The movie is the official remake of Thai film ‘Alone’ which is again inspired from ‘Sisters Tale’. Right from the word go, director Pon Kumaran has made the film with engaging screenplay and gripping narration. What happens when two conjoined twins love the same guy and how will they emote and what kind of pain they undergo in the process and how they develop jealousy on each other has been etched brilliantly in a convincing way. The tag line ‘Never Break a Promise’ is apt and the director balanced it with a beautiful twist to the tale in the climax and made it even more thrilling. On the flip side, the climax is a bit cliched but there is nothing much to complain as Priyamani has one again proved her acting prowess here! Overall, Charulatha surely grabs the attention for Priyamani’s amazing performance and Pon Kumaran’s excellent direction.

Charulatha Review Performances:

Priyamani as Charu and Latha delivered amazing award winning performance and she has carried the movie on her shoulders. She showed lot of variations in both the roles and especially her performance in the climax is outstanding. Priyamani is apparently one of the finest actresses of the present era. Saranya has delivered a decent performance and Seetha played the vital role of a Psychiatrist. Sai Sasi is good as priest and others played their part well.

Charulatha Review Technicalities:

Dialogues by Mythili Kiran are good. Editing by Donmax is crisp. Cinematography by Panner Selvam is wonderful. Direction by Pon Kumaran is excellent. Back ground score of Sundar C Babu is an asset. Production values by Global One Studios are grand.

Madhur Bhandarkar, the protégé of RGV, has been known for his gritty dramas and this time he has come up with yet another inside story on the entertainment industry. Let us see how this is..

Story:
Starting with a flashback mode, the story begins with Mahie Arora (Kareena Kapoor) a top league heroine who is going through a phase of emotional rupture.

The reason for that is, her fading career and at the same time her insecurity about the relationship with the married superstar Aryan Khanna (Arjun Rampal) who is yet to get his divorce.

An impulsive and highly volatile being that she is, Mahie’s streak of eccentricity tends to push Mahie to do some rash gestures. But the arrival of a new PR Guru Pallavi (Divya) starts another innings for Mahie but in the process of limelight and publicity, Mahie gets lonelier and lonelier as she climbs. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Performances:
Kareena Kapoor has given a committed performance. She may not be as versatile as Vidya Balan or graceful as Aishwarya but she sure has that attitude to carry herself. She has portrayed the various facets convincingly.

Arjun Rampal looks quite weary. Unlike his previous flicks where he had that freshness, this film shows him in a rather old and starved look taking away his stud charms. Performance-wise, he was nice.

Randeep Hooda had a brief role but he did his bit well. This is a different side to his characterization which is usually raw and rustic.

Divya Dutta was apt for the role of a PRO. She has portrayed her character in the most realistic way possible and added value to the scenes that she did.

Govind Namdeo was perfect, Helen was useful, Ranvir Shorey was excellent as Dada, Pooja Chopra was okay, Mugdha Godse was brief, Lilette Dubey was standard, Shahana Goswami was seductive. The others did their bit as required.

Analysis:
The life of entertainment industry is all about glitz and glamour and that’s why the audience love to watch films because it is a dream world. From a distance, the film industry is quite flashy and even the lifestyles the stars lead are quite flamboyant. But here is the truth.

It isn’t so rosy as it is perceived to be. And that is what Madhur Bhandarkar has tried to show with this attempt. Usually it is the heroines who have a plush lifestyle but the fact is that beneath all that beauty, glamour and craze, there lies a girl who is confused, misguided, ambitious but without clarity of thought. Unfortunately, they cover it up with something called ‘Attitude’ and ‘I know everything and I am never at fault’.

Well, that doesn’t really work for long and the price has to be paid. Though dialogues are totally spineless, one line from actress Helen in the film sums it up. The essence of her words meant “In the craving for glamour and glory, what we don’t realize is we have lost a lot in the bargain. And by the time we realize, it is too late.” And that is the life of a heroine in a nutshell.

Madhur has always shown interest in dealing with reality issues and he must be appreciated for choosing his own line of work to show the dark side as it may rub his colleagues on the wrong side. But this time, he didn’t have that grit or intensity that he usually has. This was more sober. Of course it had its deep moments but due to the length of the film and stale dialogues, the fizz was missing. Overall, this is a film which many heroines would connect and would work as an eye opener for those aspiring to be one.

On the flip side, this may not work with the masses who expect some glamour feast due to the reality dose. At the box office, the film has a good potential of scoring profits.

Bottomline: Watch it for knowing her life and not her beauty…

Vennala Kishore, the upcoming comedian emerged as director with this film. He called it is sequel to Deva Katta's 'Vennela' but holds no connection with that other than finding some artistes in common. Let us see how it worked.
 
Story:
Krishna Krishna (Chaitanya Krishna) loves Vennela (Monal Gajjar) who was already engaged to a software engineer (Sravan).
 
Not knowing the reason, she too falls in the love of Krishna Krishna.
 
But she discovers that she got betrayed by him and moves to a far away place. Krishna Krishna and his friends go in search of her. What happens from there, leads to climax.
 
Performances:
Chaitanya Krishna is a good dancer but he was not fully exploited. There are no complaints from him and did what he is supposed to do.
 
Monal Gajjar is photogenic and looks good in some frames. On a whole, she wasn't used for glamor side. She needs to groom a lot with respect to expressions.
 
Vennela Kishore's part is impressive on screen and Tagubothu Ramesh added fuel to humor. Harish is reasonably hilarious in many places, but proved ‘over’ in some parts. Brahmanandam got wasted. Raghu Babu's comedy is very artificial and forcible. Master Bharat is pitiful.
 
Though there is no logic, as said by the director on poster as 'love+laugh" square minus logic, entertainment lacked a lot especially in second half.

Analysis:
Tagubothu Ramesh, just before the interval says 'What is this film? Audience walks out for sure". To this Kishore says, "No, second half will be lolli lolli with many comedians".

That raises expectations. But that ended up in chaos. Many feel first half is better than second at the end. Suddenly, the melodrama with Vennela's father character didn't gel with the genre of the film. Even the climax part was not grippingly entertaining.

Kishore made this film with an idea to bring out a narration that is out of the imagination for Telugu audience. The influence of many comedy films made in last 30 years in Hollywood was seen on this.

The screenplay is incompetent, we have to strain our brain to understand what's happening in the movie.

Making an out and out comedy entertainer needs lot of dynamics to keen audience engaged. Even the disconnect of 10 minutes mars the prospects of the film. It is needless to say that entertaining narration is a must though there is no logic.

No one knows why the film was titled ‘Vennela 1.5’. Is that to target the rating of 1.5? But it could score only half of it.

Performances:

The movie have 3 prominent heroines making their come back – Amala Akkineni, Shriya and Anjala Jhaveri. Amala excelled in the role of an unfortunate woman. It is certainly a performance that is up to her real life. Splendid Comeback! Shriya gets a good role but acting with all the young ones made her look older. Anjala Jhaveri gets a next door aunty character on whom people go mad. A very little role.

All the new comers Abhijith, Sudhakar, Kaushik, Shagun and Zara delivered a decent performance and added to the fresh feel needed for the movie.The comedy rendered by Nagaraju (Sudhakar) in Telangana slang was one of the major highlights.

Technical Performance:

Like every other movie of his, Sekhar Kammula had managed to come out with a story with unique feel. It touches our heart and takes to our grand old times. He lived up to the expectations as director but the screenplay let him down. Since his first movie, length of the movie had been a major problem for him. This movie is also 169 minutes long. Even though many scenes are good, when they combined together tests our patience.

Vijay’s Cinematography is great with vibrant colours. Mickey J. Meyer songs and back ground score liven up the emotions in the flow of the movie. All the songs are superbly shot in Picturesque locations in Sekhar Kammula’s style. Editing is a let down.

Final Say:

The first half of the movie is a jolly ride. And the problem is with the never ending second half but it contains some excellent sentimental scenes more particularly towards the climax. Had the movie been a 20 or 30 minutes shot, it would have worked wonders. It is a one time watch to rewind our good grand old days!

Story:

A poor yogi comes to Shirdi and helps poor people by solving their problems and troubles. In a short time, The locals of this town turn devotees to him after witnessing his power and holy nature. They fondly call him as Saibaba and they believe him as the incarnation of god. Baba’s ideologies, miracles and divine preaches fetch him many devotes all over. Rest of the story is all about how he has spread the wisdom, divinity, holiness and enlightenment among people.

Lead Cast Performances:

Nagarjuna’s getup as Sai is par excellent and he molded himself brilliantly into this character. Especially, he excelled peaks in the climax episode. Kamalini Mukherjee, Sarath Babu, Sayaji Shinde, Kaushik Babu played their roles well. Srikanth suited well as Dasaganu. Ali, Ananth are just okay.

Technicalities:

Cinematography by S Gopal Reddy is the main asset of this movie; he made the film visually grand. Re-recording and background score by MM Keeravani are also major attractions. Editing by Shravan could have been better in some parts. Dialogues written by Paruchuri Brothers are good, thought provoking and catchy. Production Values of Sai Krupa Entertainments are top. Direction and screenplay by Ragavendra Rao scores full marks, especially at the final 30 Min (approx).

Story

Anand aka Bruce Lee [Jeeva], as friends call him is a martial arts specialist, who tries to make his passion as his profession, as he doesn’t want to do a regular salaried job. In the meantime he happens to see Shakthi [Pooja Hedge], daughter of a commissioner Gaurav [Nasser] and falls for her. Bruce Lee tries to impress Shakthi and her sister’s children with his martial art skills in the process he puts on mask, which brings trouble for him.

Intervening to this Anand come across Dragon [Narain] and his gang, who fights with formers master Chandru [Selvaa] and also involved in a mass robbery and murder cases in the city. Finally Lee aka Mask [Jeeva] decides to help police to catch the Dragon and his gang. Dragon who plans to take revenge on Lee and the commissioner, convenes a plan that eventually frames Lee as a robber and the attempter to kill Gaurav.

How will Bruce Lee manage to get out of this problem? How does he win his lady love Shakthi forms the crux.

Performances:

Jeeva has given best performance as Anand aka Bruce Lee and his transition from a common man to a masked superhero is quite admirable. He is at his ease in action sequences which is utmost important for such films.

Hero turned antagonist Narain tried his best to play the baddie for Jeeva, but couldn’t show the utmost needed nastiness in his role through his.

Debutant Pooja has matched the role best, and looked glamorous. Nasser, Selva and Girish Karnad have done their roles best as ever they do.

Technical Analysis:

Mysskin has narrated the plot well according to his script, which he tells is his childhood dream, but the screenplay is quite slow. Compared to earlier films of Mysskin, Mask is a different and unique attempt. Director’s idea to shoot most of the scenes in the night adds novelty but few of the scenes failed to justify logic.

Cinematography by Sathya is appealing and the martial art sequences are well captured. Tony Leungs should be given a tap for awe-inspiring stunts, which are one of the highlights of the movie. VFX scenes are good. K’s music fails to impress while the background score is fine. Gaugin’s editing is jerky and few unwanted scenes could have been trimmed in the second half. Dubbing could have been better. Production values are lavish.

Analysis:

Mysskin has well tried to narrate us the story of right v/s wrong through Bruce Lee’s perspective, but the narration is quite slow and the romantic track between the leads fails to connect to audiences. The dubbing for the Telugu version is not good.

The positives of Mask are well-choreographed action sequences and good technical values. First half entertains you a bit while the second half falls flat with neither entertainment nor racy or interesting screenplay. VFX scenes were good. Despite being technically strong, the script was superficial and lacks in emotional depth.

Final Verdict:

‘Mask’ does not offer enjoyable experiences like other superhero flicks.

Synopsis:

Kalki Narayana Murthy (Vijay Kumar) is a man of noble intention to serve the poor. His son Srimannarayana (Balakrishna) is an exact photocopy of his father. He is a journalist by profession. He bangs in to Swapnika (Parvati melton), a reporter from other channel who always competes with him in work. And later falls for Srimannarayana. Also there is Bhanumathi who is mardhalu of Srimannarayana. And on the serious note, a stirof events take Srimannarayana’s life by a storm and lands him in jail. And the rest of the story is all about how he ends evil and proves himself innocent.

Performances:

Bala Krishna looked pretty handsome in the role of Srimannarayana. Unlike his recent movies, his styling and costumes are good. He is at his usual best in acting and carried on tremendous energy in songs and fights. Fans will go mad with some of his dance steps.

Parvati Melton as Swapnika and Isha Chawla as Bhanumathi are good in the limited roles they are offered. They had added the required oomph factor to the movie. Suresh, Vinod Kumar Kota Srinivasa Rao, Jaya Prakash Reddy, Supreeth are good in the role of Antagonists. Rest all are okay in limited roles. Comedy track is neat.

Technical Performance:

There is no novelty in the Story of the movie, director Ravi Chawali follows a time-tested formula but made sure that there are ample commercial elements that satisfy the thrust of masses and fans. He projected Bala Krishna in the right way and extracted powerful mass performance. Screenplay of the movie is predictable which became an hindrance in the flow of the movie. Direction is good in parts.

Surrender Reddy’s cinematography technique is good. The songs composed by Chakri suited Balayya’s image but to normal audience, they might be a bit outdated.

Final Say:

The first half of the movie began on a slower note and picked pace from the pre interval scene and second half is good with ample mass elements required by Balayya fans. A slightly more gripping screenplay would have added weight to the movie. The movie goes well with fans especially Balayya’s looks and energy and it will be okay for normal audience. The box office success of the movie depends on how masses receive it.
