Allu Arjun and Trivikram duo raised expectations over Julayi as they have very good following among youth and especially among the family audiences in cities. Julayi trailers have given a clear idea about what to expect and the aggressive promotional campaign helped the movie to draw huge openings. Did Julayi meet the humongous expectations?

What is it about?

Ravi (Allu Arjun) is an aimless youngster who wanted to become rich overnight. Bittu (Sonu Sood) is a professional thief that plans a mega heist by looting 1500 crores from a bank. Ravi confronts Bittu and the latter's plans gets shattered due to the former. The game starts between Ravi and Bittu, who think identically. In between there is a love story between Ravi and Madhu (Ileana).

Performances:

Allu Arjun looks entirely different in this film. His approach to Ravi's character is interesting. He did a fairly good job as an actor with cool and composed demeanor. He has once again rocked in the dancing department and excelled in comedic scenes. There are few problems with his diction though.

Sonu Sood is good as the bad man. Rajendra Prasad is a surprise package. He entertains with his typical comedy. Ileana has not much of a role in the film except for bumping on to the screen for the sake of songs. She looked pale and dull. Being ultra slim is not doing any good for her. Brahmanandam has few hilarious scenes. Asking for writing 'Athma Katha' in the police station and his episode with Hema are simply superb. All others did a fair job in the respective roles.

On the Technical Front:

Devi Sri Prasad's music is peppy and trendy. He could have made space for some more melody though. O Madhu song is haunting and beautiful. Background score is good. Cinematography and Editing are up to the mark. Dialogues written by Trivikram stands as highlight in the film. There are very good one liners and few philosophical dialogues that are brilliant.

Trivikram has a unique style of dealing with action scenes. His stamp is present in this movie too. There are many scenes where we can see the director's touch. As a director, Trivikram did well in this film. Only thing is he has faltered at times as a script writer.

Analysis:

Julayi is entertaining throughout except for few hiccups here and there. First half takes off in an interesting fashion. Cricket betting, bank robbery gives the movie a slick look and sets the mood for this action ride. In typical Trivikram style it takes an entertaining turn and breezes off until the interval point from then on.

At the interval hero and villain confronts each other again and they set goals for themselves to deal with the situation. Second half runs on an entertaining note until the pre climax sequences. From then on the film drags and the much expected climax turns out to be a pale action scene. When hero and villain think alike and are equally strong, we expect an interesting ending to the tug of war.

But the director took the easy route to wrap up things. Had he taken care on the last half an hour, Julayi could have been much much better. Trivikram and Allu Arjun fans will be satisfied and the audiences who look for clean comedy get their dose. We have to wait and see how the mass audiences react to this. On a whole a fairly decent entertainer.
